Freddie Highmore

Alfred Thomas “Freddie” Highmore, born February 14 1992, is an English actor. He is best known for films such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), August Rush (2007), and The Art of Getting By (2011). Freddie is also known for the A&E series, Bates Motel (2013-present), as Norman Bates.

Freddie began his acting career with small television roles at 7-years-old. He made his film debut in the 1999 film, Women Talking Dirty. In 2001, Freddie portrayed a young King Arthur in the made-for-TV miniseries, The Mists of Avalon.

In September 2012, it was announced that Freddie would portray Norman Bates, alongside Vera Farmiga as his mother Norma, in the A&E series Bates Motel. The series is a prequel to the well-known Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho, that is restarts the storyline to the present day. Bates Motel premiered on March 18, 2013.
